Pocket Desktop App and Web App: Mac, Windows, Login

Pocket AI has a desktop app for Mac and Windows that records Zoom, Teams and Meet with no bot, and a web app at app.heypocket.com. Setup, login, USB sync.

Pocket is not just the device and the phone app. There is a desktop app for Mac and Windows and a web app in the browser. Most of my work meetings are on a laptop, so the desktop app is where a lot of my recordings start. Facts below come from Pocket’s docs as of October 28, 2026.

Where Pocket runs

What it does
iOS and Android appPairs with the device, syncs recordings, shows transcripts, summaries and action items
Desktop app (beta), macOS and Windows 10+Records Zoom, Teams and Google Meet calls; syncs from the device over USB-C
Web app, app.heypocket.comYour recordings in a browser; syncs from the device over USB-C in Chrome, Edge or Brave

Install the desktop app

  1. Download it from Pocket’s download page . The Mac installer is universal, so it runs on Apple Silicon and Intel.
  2. On a Mac, open the .dmg and drag Pocket into Applications. On Windows, run the .exe installer.
  3. First launch on a Mac may say the app can’t be opened. Right-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. That is a one-time macOS prompt for apps from outside the App Store.
  4. Sign in and allow the microphone and system audio permissions your computer asks for.

Record a Zoom, Teams or Meet call

The desktop app records your microphone plus the meeting audio playing through your computer. It does not add a bot or an extra participant, so nobody sees a recorder in the attendee list. It does not capture video, chat or shared screens.

You can start it three ways:

  • Press record in the app.
  • Accept the meeting notification. Turn on Meeting Detection under Settings, then General, then Recording.
  • Turn on Auto Record in the same place, and it starts on its own when it detects a supported meeting.

Keep the app running for detection to work. Pocket’s docs also suggest headphones to cut echo, and a short test recording any time you change mics, headphones or speakers.

Use the email you bought Pocket with. Pocket ties subscriptions to the purchase email, not the device. If you signed in with Apple or Google under a different email, your plan and some transcripts may not show up. Sign out and sign back in with the purchase email.

If the one time code never arrives, check spam, then try Apple or Google sign in with that same purchase email.

Sync over USB-C

Bluetooth sync from the phone is the default. For a big backlog, USB-C is faster:

  1. In the phone app, turn on Settings, Pocket Web Sync (USB Mode).
  2. Plug Pocket into your computer with a USB-C data cable. Some cables only charge.
  3. Open the desktop app, or go to app.heypocket.com in Chrome, Edge or Brave, and sync.

Safari and Firefox do not support the USB access Pocket Web needs. On Brave, turn on File System Access and turn off Shields for app.heypocket.com if the device does not show up.

Frequently asked questions

Does Pocket AI have a desktop app?

Yes. The Pocket desktop app is in beta for macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Windows 10 and later. It records Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet calls and syncs recordings from the device over USB-C.

Is there a Pocket web app?

Yes, at app.heypocket.com. It also handles USB-C sync from the device in Chrome, Edge or Brave. Safari and Firefox do not support the USB access it needs.

How do I log in to Pocket?

Sign in with the email you used to buy Pocket. Subscriptions are tied to the purchase email, not the device. If you used Apple or Google sign in with a different email, sign out and sign in with the purchase email.

Does the Pocket desktop app add a bot to my meeting?

No. It records your microphone and the meeting audio playing through your computer. No bot joins the call. It does not capture video, chat or shared screens.

Does the desktop app record automatically?

Only if you turn on Auto Record. With Meeting Detection on and Auto Record off, Pocket asks before it starts recording.
