Mike Moore’s Web of Mike. The place where I’ve decided to take my love of coding, beer, and adventures and put it out there for the internet to troll.
I’ve got a rather lengthy background going back to my time as an 8-year old putting together robot kits, building weird things out of whatever may have been in the recycling bin, and occasionally chewing on my arm. In the last 22 years (that’s right, I’m 30) I’ve spent many late nights, early mornings, weekends, and long long hours learning many aspects of technology. Everything from building computers (caught my first one on fire when I was about 10) to assembly code, to Fortran, to the variety of web and scripting languages (go, python, php, perl, you name it), to cloud computing, and beyond, I’ve probably played with it at some point.
I’m currently a Senior Enterprise Solutions Engineer at Datadog working with large customers on monitoring and technology strategy. I’ve had a variety of roles (you can see some of them on LinkedIn if you’re that curious) that range from Electrical Engineer to Senior Solution Strategist but what most don’t see is my love of coding and system architecture. There is nothing I enjoy more than putting a system together around a new technology (or re-purposing old technology) to do something a little different. It’s pretty cool and its something I get really excited about when I can do it.
I really want to be able to share what I’ve learned with the world and continue to learn and continue to share (this will be a vicious cycle as you can see) as there seems to be a never-ending amount of stuff to learn. Really there’s just more and more and never enough hours in the day!
But for now, this is all I’m going to write on this topic. There are better things to do than talk about myself, so get out there and read some more stuff on the Web of Mike!
