How to Connect Granola to Claude

Connect Granola to Claude in a few clicks with the official connector, what Claude can read on each Granola plan, and the fix when it shows no tools.

To connect Granola to Claude, open Claude’s settings, go to Connectors, search for Granola, click Connect, and sign in with your Granola account. Claude can then search and read your Granola meeting notes, and on a paid Granola plan it can read full transcripts too. This is the Claude app path. The hub is meeting note takers that work with Claude , which compares every meeting note taker that works with Claude.

Claude Code users want the MCP page, not this one. I have not used Granola myself. The steps and plan limits below are from Granola’s MCP docs and pricing page, checked October 19, 2026.

What you need

A Granola account on any plan. The free Basic plan works but only covers your own notes from the last 30 days.

A Claude account.

Sign in to Granola with the email your Granola account is registered under. If you sign in with a different email, Granola returns “Unauthorized: user has not created a Granola account yet.” You do not have to use the same email for Claude and Granola. You do have to authenticate the Granola account that actually has your notes.

On a work account, check that your company allows the connector. Unapproved connectors are connectors nobody approved .

Step 1. Find Granola in Claude’s connectors

Open Claude. Go to Settings, then Connectors, then search “Granola”. Granola is a listed connector in Claude’s directory, added January 2026, so there is no URL to paste.

Claude’s menu label can change. Granola’s doc says Settings. Some other vendors’ October docs say Customize. Use whichever your Claude shows.

Step 2. Sign in and approve

Click Connect. Claude opens Granola’s sign-in. Approve access. There is no API key and no client secret. It is a normal sign-in. Granola MCP uses browser OAuth and Dynamic Client Registration, so you do not generate a client ID either. If a third-party platform shows client ID and client secret fields, Granola says leave them blank.

Step 3. Ask your first question

Try:

  • What did we decide in Tuesday’s pricing call?
  • List my meetings with Dana this month
  • Pull the action items from my last three customer calls

Underneath, Claude searches your notes, lists meetings, opens a meeting, and on a paid plan reads the transcript. Those map to Granola’s tools: query_granola_meetings, list_meetings, get_meetings, and (paid) get_meeting_transcript. Folder listing (list_meeting_folders) is paid only. get_meeting_attachment returns screenshots of screens shared during a meeting. get_account_info returns the email and active workspace of the Granola account currently connected, which is the check to run if Claude cannot find notes you know you have.

What Claude can see on each Granola plan

Prices as of October 2026, from Granola’s pricing page .

PlanPrice (as of October 2026)What Claude can reach
Basic$0Your own notes from the last 30 days. Folder listing and transcripts are paid only.
Business$14 per user per monthYour notes plus notes shared publicly in the workspace, any age, with transcripts.
Enterprise$35 per user per monthAn admin picks what the connector can reach, including a switch for meeting transcripts.

Claude reads the Granola workspace you are active in. Ask it to switch workspaces if you have more than one. The switch_workspace tool exists for that, and it also changes the active workspace in the Granola app.

If you are comparing tools, the hub has the other note takers. Otter is the other one listed in Claude’s directory. Otter’s connector was added in April 2026, three months after Granola’s, which makes Granola one of the older meeting connectors in Claude even though most people only found it this fall.

Use Granola in ChatGPT too

In ChatGPT, open Settings, search Granola, and sign in the same way. After it connects, you can @Granola or just ask ChatGPT to reference your meetings.

If Claude says “No tools available” or can’t find your account

No tools: disconnect Granola in Claude’s connector settings on claude.ai (do this on the web even if you use the desktop app) and connect again without refreshing the page. Granola’s steps are: select Granola, open the three-dot menu, Disconnect, then Connect again without navigating away. On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, a workspace admin may have to do that for you.

“Unauthorized: user has not created a Granola account yet”: you signed in with an email that is not your Granola one. Sign out of Granola’s sign-in page and connect again with the right email. Asking Claude to log out of Granola and clicking the logout link it returns is the fix Granola documents, because a normal disconnect leaves the Granola session in place.

If Claude says it cannot find any notes, ask which Granola account it is signed in with. Right email, wrong workspace: switch workspace in the Granola app, or ask Claude to switch. Wrong email: log out through the link as above.

Slow or refused answers after lots of questions: Granola limits the connector to about 100 requests a minute. Rate limits vary by plan and tool, and they are subject to change. On Basic you can only query notes from the last 30 days. An upgrade from Basic to Business or Enterprise should add the extra tools on the next query, per Granola.

Using Claude Code instead

Claude Code is a different path. It uses Granola’s MCP server URL rather than the directory connector in the Claude app. No command on this page. If you are connecting a custom MCP client of your own, Granola documents Streamable HTTP plus OAuth, or Enterprise-Managed Authorization through your company IdP. There is no API key or service account method for MCP.

Frequently asked questions

Does Granola connect to Claude?

Yes. Granola has an official connector in Claude’s connector directory. You add it from Claude’s Connectors settings and sign in with your Granola account, with no API key involved.

Can I connect Granola to Claude on the free plan?

Yes. On Granola’s free Basic plan, Claude can reach your own notes from the last 30 days. Older notes, folder listing and full transcripts need a paid Granola plan, as of October 2026.

How do I use Granola with Claude?

After you connect it, ask Claude about your meetings in plain words, like “what did we decide in Tuesday’s call” or “list my meetings with Dana this month”. Claude searches your Granola notes and answers from them.

Why does the Granola connector say no tools are available?

Granola’s fix is to disconnect the connector in Claude’s settings and connect it again without refreshing the page in between.
