Granola, Otter, Fireflies, Fathom, tl;dv and Read AI all have official MCP servers that connect to Claude, as of October 2026. The real differences are which plan you need, how you sign in, and whether Claude can only read your meetings or can also share, move or create things. I record in-person meetings with [the Pocket recorder I use for in-person meetings](/pocket-ai-recorder/). This page is the software note takers that sit in calls. Every fact here comes from the vendor's own docs or pricing page on October 19, 2026. I have not tested these six myself. Hands-on notes get added as I do.

## The six at a glance

Checked October 19, 2026 on each vendor's docs and pricing page. Prices are as of October 2026.

## Read-only or not: the column that matters most

A read tool lets Claude look. A write tool lets Claude act in your account. Fireflies and Read AI give Claude tools that share meetings with other people or send a bot into a meeting. Granola, Otter, Fathom and tl;dv list only tools that look things up.

That split is the one I would start with on a work account. A search tool answering from last week's standup is one kind of access. A tool that emails a transcript to 100 people, or that sends a meeting agent into a call you named, is another. Both are documented as official tools. Neither is "better." They are different permissions.

Write tools are useful. Sharing a recap is a real job. The page says what each one can do, not which is better.

In Claude, set write tools to ask before running. On a work account, treat a connector nobody on the security team approved as [connectors nobody approved](/what-is-shadow-mcp/).

## Plans and sign-in, the parts that trip people up

Granola's free Basic plan stops at 30 days of your own notes. Folder listing and full transcripts are paid only, per Granola's MCP docs.

tl;dv needs Pro on both sides: your plan, and the meeting organizer's. It also needs a paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise). Search returns up to 50 meetings.

Fathom needs the org owner to switch the Claude connector on before members see it.

Fireflies shares its API rate limits with MCP: Free is 30 requests a minute and 500 a day, Pro is 60 a minute and 5,000 a day. A tool call and a GraphQL request spend the same budget. The daily quota is a calendar day in UTC. Business and Enterprise pool 60 requests a minute per paid seat, with no daily cap. A rejected MCP tool call comes back as JSON-RPC error `-32429`.

Read AI's search covers about the last 12 months. The same query twice can return slightly different results, because the search is agentic, per Read AI's docs.

## Granola

Granola is a listed connector in Claude's directory, added January 2026. You search for Granola in Claude's Connectors settings and sign in. There is no URL to paste and no API key. MCP follows the active Granola workspace. Notes from other workspaces are not included, even if you can see them in Granola through sharing.

On Basic, Claude can reach your own notes from the last 30 days. Personal notes means notes you own, notes shared directly with you, and notes in private folders shared with you, all in the active workspace. Business adds public notes: notes visible to everyone in the workspace, including the Team space. Enterprise lets an admin pick those scopes, including a switch for meeting transcripts that applies to everyone. If neither scope is enabled, members cannot use Granola MCP.

The [connect Granola to Claude](/connect-granola-to-claude/) page is the Claude app path.

## Otter

Otter is listed in Claude's connector directory, added April 2026. Sign-in is OAuth. Otter says it has no public API key for MCP. The tools are `get_user_info`, `search`, and `fetch`. Search finds meetings. Fetch returns a full speech transcript, including from an Otter conversation URL that is shared with you. You can reach meetings you captured and meetings shared with you in the workspace. The pricing page lists "Otter MCP server" under Basic. Pro is $16.99 per user per month billed monthly, as of October 2026. The $8.49 annual price on that page is marked as a first-time offer, so I am quoting the monthly number in the table.

<!-- TODO link N2 /connect-otter-to-claude/ when live: "connect Otter to Claude" -->

Otter's own setup is in [Otter's MCP Server article](https://help.otter.ai/hc/en-us/articles/35287607569687-Otter-MCP-Server).

## Fireflies

Fireflies serves MCP at `https://api.fireflies.ai/mcp` over Streamable HTTP only. Sign in with OAuth, or send an API key through `mcp-remote`. Any active account can connect, with the rate limits above. Write tools include `fireflies_share_meeting` (up to 100 emails, optional 7/14/30 day expiry), `fireflies_revoke_meeting_access`, `fireflies_update_meeting_title`, `fireflies_move_meeting` (up to 5 meetings into a channel), and `fireflies_create_soundbite`. Those are the tools that change data. Search and fetch tools also exist; some of them are marked experimental in Fireflies' docs.

Fireflies MCP configuration is in [Fireflies' MCP docs](https://docs.fireflies.ai/getting-started/mcp-configuration).

## Fathom

Fathom serves MCP at `https://api.fathom.ai/mcp`. Fathom's Claude page says the connector works on every plan. A free plan exists. Team is $19 per user per month billed monthly ($15 annual) with a 2 user minimum, as of October 2026. In a team or organization, an owner has to enable the connector first. The seven tools Fathom documents are `get_identity`, `list_teams`, `list_meetings`, `get_meeting_summary`, `get_meeting_transcript`, `find_person`, and `search_meetings`. None of those write.

Fathom's Claude steps are on [Fathom's Claude integration page](https://www.fathom.ai/integrations/claude) and [Fathom's MCP docs](https://developers.fathom.ai/mcp-docs).

## tl;dv

tl;dv's MCP is read only. You connect from the connector marketplace in Claude or ChatGPT: search tl;dv or tldv without the semicolon, then Install, then Connect, then sign in. It needs tl;dv Pro or higher and a paid Claude plan. The organizer of a meeting you want to reach also has to be Pro. If a specific meeting is missing, that organizer plan is the first thing to check. OAuth tokens last 5 minutes, so the connection keeps signing itself back in while you work. Up to 50 meetings come back per search. Prompts that name a timeframe and a title or email work better than a vague "everything." Pro is EUR 29 per seat per month billed monthly (EUR 18 billed annually), as of October 2026.

<!-- TODO: copy the exact tl;dv MCP URL from https://intercom.help/tldv/en/articles/15322415-mcp -->

Setup is in [tl;dv's MCP help article](https://intercom.help/tldv/en/articles/15322415-mcp).

## Read AI

Read AI's MCP server is in open beta. US accounts use `https://api.read.ai/mcp`. EU accounts use `https://prod-eu-api.read.ai/mcp` and need a custom connector. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1. Search covers about the last 12 months. Write tools include `share_meeting_report`, `create_meeting_agent` (Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams), `create_folder`, `update_folder`, `add_folder_items`, `remove_folder_items`, `share_folder`, and `delete_folder`. Viewer, editor, and owner matter here: only editors and owners can share a meeting report, and only a folder owner can delete the folder. Pro is $19.75 per user per month billed monthly ($15 annual), as of October 2026. The MCP docs do not say which plans can use the server.

Read AI's tool list is in [Read AI's MCP Server article](https://support.read.ai/hc/en-us/articles/49381158409491-MCP-Server).

## What about hardware recorders?

Recorders like Pocket and Plaud have their own MCP servers for in-person audio. Pocket's is on [the Pocket recorder I use for in-person meetings](/pocket-ai-recorder/).

<!-- TODO link PL1 /how-to-use-plaud-note-pro/ when live -->
<!-- TODO link O1 /omi-mcp-server/ when live -->

This page does not compare those devices to the six above. They solve a different capture problem. The six here join a call as software. Pocket sits on a phone or a laptop and records audio in the room. If you came here from a Pocket query, the Pocket hub is the page you want.

## How I'd test these

I have not run these six against Claude yet. When I do, I will use the same three questions on each one, write down which tools Claude actually calls, and write down which plans block what.

<!-- TODO hands-on: same three questions against each tool -->
<!-- TODO hands-on: note which tools Claude calls -->
<!-- TODO hands-on: note which plans block what -->
<!-- TODO hands-on: Mike's three-question test across the six -->
