A bot joining the call announces "I'm recording" to everyone, and some clients ask you to remove it. Bot-free note takers capture audio from your own device instead. More on the [meeting assistant hub](/ai-life/work-study/meeting-assistants/).

## Options

| Tool | How it captures | Source |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Granola | Your computer's audio, plus your typed notes | [InterMIND](https://intermind.com/blog/mcp-servers-for-meeting-tools) |
| Jamie | Device audio, no bot | [Jamie](https://www.meetjamie.ai/) |
| Krisp | Device audio; bot is optional | [Krisp](https://krisp.ai/) |
| Pocket | A physical recorder, works in person and on calls | [Pocket meeting recorder](/pocket-meeting-recorder/) |

**Granola** is the popular pick for Mac users who like to type their own notes and have AI fill in the rest. {{< aff granola "Try Granola" />}}

**Jamie** and **Krisp** both run on your device. Krisp also does noise cancelling.

**Pocket** works in the room, on a phone call, or next to your laptop. It's what I use. {{< aff pocket "Get Pocket" />}}

## One rule

Bot-free doesn't mean consent-free. Tell people you're recording and follow your local laws.
