Socks and charging cables are where robot vacuums fail in real homes. A cable wraps the brush and the robot stops mid-run. This compares three flagships using published lab results. For the full set of guides, see the [robot vacuum hub](/ai-life/home/robot-vacuums/).

## The scores

| Robot | Vacuum Wars obstacles avoided (of 24) | Notes |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Roborock Saros 10R | 24 | Also avoided every sock and cord in TechGearLab's test |
| Dreame X50 Ultra | 20 | RTINGS reports occasional USB cable snags |
| Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni | 15 | Slightly below the 16.6 test average, weaker on small objects |

## Roborock Saros 10R

A perfect 24 of 24 at Vacuum Wars, and TechGearLab says it avoided every obstacle it placed, socks and cords included. It pairs an RGB camera with dual-emitter time-of-flight sensing, and Roborock says it recognizes 108 object types. One caution: the labs don't fully agree. A roundup of published tests by Techracker notes that RTINGS saw it get tangled in USB cables fairly often, while Vacuum Wars gave it full marks ([Techracker](https://techracker.de/saugroboter-kabel-erkennung/)). Different cables and layouts give different results. {{< aff roborock "See the Saros 10R at Roborock" />}}

## Dreame X50 Ultra

20 of 24 at Vacuum Wars, which would win most matchups. It mixes an RGB camera with 3D structured light. RTINGS found it occasionally catches USB cables and less often extension cords. Its other strength is height: the LiDAR tower retracts so it drops from 111mm to 89mm to get under sofas ([Gadget Scout](https://www.gadgetscout.co.uk/articles/roborock-saros-10r-vs-dreame-x50-ultra-vs-ecovacs-deebot-x8.html)). {{< aff dreame "See the X50 Ultra at Dreame" />}}

## Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni

15 of 24, with most misses on smaller objects ([Vacuum Wars](https://vacuumwars.com/ecovacs-deebot-x8-pro-omni-review-how-does-it-compare/)). It's a mopping-first robot with a self-rinsing roller mop. Buy it for floors, not for clutter. {{< aff ecovacs "See the Deebot X8 Pro Omni at Ecovacs" />}}

## Bottom line

If your floors have cords and kids' socks on them, the Saros 10R has the best published record of the three. Every lab still found weak spots, mostly on carpet, so a quick floor pickup before a run still pays off. The [obstacle avoidance explainer](/ai-life/home/robot-vacuums/robot-vacuum-ai-obstacle-avoidance/) covers why cables are so hard to see. If pet hair matters more than clutter, see the [pet hair picks](/ai-life/home/robot-vacuums/best-robot-vacuum-pet-hair/).

## What my agent can do with it

The useful agent trick here is the object log. The Saros 10R tells you in its app what it avoided. If that data reaches Home Assistant, an agent could send a nightly note like "it skipped a cable by the desk" so you fix it before the next run.
