Pet hair is the one job where robot vacuums split apart. Some pick up nearly all of it. Others leave clumps or wrap it around the roller until you cut it free. This guide pulls together the published test numbers so you can skip the guesswork. For the rest of the lineup, start at the robot vacuum guides hub .

The short list

PickWhySource
Ecovacs Deebot T90 Pro Omni100% pet hair pickup, perfect tangle score, 23 of 24 obstacles avoidedVacuum Wars
Dreame L60 Ultra PE100% flattened pet hair pickup, 0% brush wrap, 94% carpet deep cleanVacuum Wars
Dreame L40 UltraTechRadar’s top pet hair pick, strong on dog hair across hard floor and carpetTechRadar
Roborock Q7 M5Budget pick. Handles hair, but hair can wrap the roller and there’s no auto-emptyTechRadar

What the tests show

Ecovacs T90 Pro Omni. Vacuum Wars scored it a rare 100% on pet hair pickup against an 82% category average, and its ZeroTangle 4.0 brush scored perfectly in seven-inch hair tangle tests (Vacuum Wars ). The catch is a 250ml dustbin, about 30% smaller than average. The dock empties it often, so you mostly notice it on heavy shedding days. See the Deebot T90 Pro Omni at Ecovacs

Dreame L60 Ultra PE. 100% flattened pet hair pickup with 0% brush wrap, plus a 94% carpet deep clean score, the second highest of nearly 200 robots Vacuum Wars has run (Vacuum Wars ). Stain removal was below average because water output is low. If your problem is fur, not dried juice, that’s a fair trade. See the L60 Ultra PE at Dreame

Roborock Q7 M5. TechRadar’s budget pick. It handles hair well for the price, but hair can wrap around the roller and it has no self-empty dock (TechRadar ). It suits a small home with one short-haired pet. See the Q7 M5 at Roborock

One warning: a brand’s good model doesn’t carry over to the whole lineup. Roborock’s Qrevo CurvX did well overall in lab testing but scored poorly on pet hair (Vacuum Wars ). Check the specific model.

How to choose

  • Tangle resistance matters more than suction. Every flagship claims huge suction numbers now. What separates them in tests is whether hair wraps the brush.
  • Get a dock if you shed heavily. A small onboard bin fills fast with fur. Auto-empty turns that into a monthly bag swap.
  • Pet accidents need obstacle AI. If your pet isn’t fully trained, read how robot vacuum obstacle avoidance works and the socks and cables comparison .

If you want to see what the dog is doing while the robot runs, a pet camera covers that better than the vacuum’s own camera.

What my agent can do with it

Robot vacuums are one of the easier devices to hand to a home agent. Roborock, Ecovacs and Dreame all show up in Home Assistant, so an agent can start a run when everyone leaves, or send the robot to clean under the food bowls after dinner. Keep the agent’s permissions narrow; I wrote about why in agent containment basics .
