This is my own network. The specs come from Ubiquiti, and the opinions are mine.

{{< owner unifi >}}I run a UniFi Dream Router 7 with a U7 Pro indoors and a U7 Outdoor outside. 5/5. It auto-tunes channels, uses beam steering, and covers 3 acres.{{< /owner >}}

## The setup

- **UniFi Dream Router 7:** router, WiFi 7 access point and the UniFi controller in one box.
- **U7 Pro:** indoor WiFi 7 access point on the ceiling.
- **U7 Outdoor:** weatherproof WiFi 7 access point for the yard.

## The "AI" part

UniFi watches the radio environment and adjusts channels and power on its own. Ubiquiti calls part of this channel optimization. Beam steering points the signal toward devices, not evenly in every direction. Together that's what keeps 3 acres covered without me touching it.

## Who should skip it

If you live in an apartment or a small house and want a one-button app, a simpler mesh will do. See [best mesh WiFi system](/ai-life/home/networking/best-mesh-wifi-system/).
