Package detection is the doorbell feature people actually use. It’s also where brands differ most in fees. More on the doorbell hub .
Picks
| Doorbell | Package detection | Storage and fees | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Eufy Video Doorbell E340 | Second, downward-facing camera watches the porch | 8GB local storage, no fee | Wired |
| Google Nest Doorbell | Package alerts included | About 3 hours of free event history; longer needs a plan | Wired |
Eufy E340. The dual camera setup sees both the visitor and the package on the mat, which a single camera aimed at faces tends to miss. No subscription needed. See the E340 at Eufy
Nest Doorbell. Clean app and package alerts without paying, but the free history window is short. See the Nest Doorbell on Amazon
How to choose
- Field of view. A tall or dual view catches the doormat.
- Fees. Decide whether you need more than a few hours of history.
- Power. Wired doorbells don’t need charging and usually respond faster.
Doorbells use the same AI detection as cameras. See Eufy vs Wyze vs Ring for the fee details, and the Alexa+ vs Gemini guide if you want doorbell alerts read out on a speaker.
