## Getting started

1. Pair the NotePin S with the Plaud app.
2. Long press the button to start recording; short press to highlight a moment ([Plaud](https://www.plaud.ai/pages/plaud-notepin-s)).
3. Sync to the app, then pick a template for the transcript and summary.

## How the AI works

- **Where it runs:** the cloud. Recordings stay on your device by default; transcription and summaries run when you ask, through Plaud's AI providers ([Plaud AI data policy](https://www.plaud.ai/pages/ai-data-usage-transparency-policy)).
- **Which model:** Plaud says it picks per task from the GPT, Claude and Gemini families, and its product page names GPT-5.5, Claude Sonnet 4.6 and Gemini 3.1 Pro ([Plaud help](https://support.plaud.ai/hc/en-us/articles/63429910825241-Which-AI-models-power-Plaud-for-v4-0-x-or-later), [Plaud](https://www.plaud.ai/pages/plaud-notepin-s)).
- **What leaves the device:** only what a task needs goes to the AI provider, and Plaud says providers can't train on it. Private Cloud Sync is opt-in ([Plaud AI data policy](https://www.plaud.ai/pages/ai-data-usage-transparency-policy)).

## Plaud MCP

Plaud ships an official, read-only MCP server. It lists recordings, reads transcripts and summaries, and can't record or re-summarize. It needs Plaud Cloud Sync on ([Plaud help](https://support.plaud.ai/hc/en-us/articles/57751078986265-Plaud-MCP), [Plaud MCP docs](https://docs.plaud.ai/plaud-mcp-cli/mcp)).

### Does Plaud work with Claude?

### Does Plaud work with MCP agents like Cursor?

### Does Plaud train AI on my recordings?
