The first wave mostly is. The Humane AI Pin was shut off, and the category has moved toward recorders and glasses. More on the AI pins hub .
What happened
- Humane AI Pin. Service ended on February 28, 2025, after HP bought Humane’s assets. The pins stopped working as designed (The Verge ).
- Limitless Pendant. Acquired by Meta in December 2025 and discontinued (Forth ).
- Rabbit R1. Reports say it’s still sold at $199 and still getting updates. I couldn’t confirm that from a strong source, so check Rabbit’s site.
What survived
Devices that do one job well: recording and summarizing conversations, like Pocket and Plaud, and glasses from established brands, like Ray-Ban Meta . TechCrunch’s AI wearables roundup tracks the current field.
