XREAL One Pro Review: A Big Private Screen, Not an AI Assistant

XREAL One Pro review from published specs and tests: 57 degree field of view, 1080p micro-OLED per eye, 120 Hz, no battery and no built-in AI assistant.

AI Life / Gadgets / AI Glasses

XREAL One Pro glasses plug into a phone, laptop, console or handheld over USB-C and float a huge virtual screen in front of you. They are video glasses, not AI glasses. There is no assistant and no battery. The reason they are on this site is that people shopping smart glasses keep landing on them, and you should know what you are buying.

I have not owned the XREAL One Pro. This review is built from the maker’s published specs and independent reviews, linked below. For more picks, see the AI Glasses hub .

What reviewers like

  • Picture quality. Tom’s Hardware calls it one of the best AR glasses products available, and the flat-prism lenses are smaller than the older birdbath design.
  • Works with almost anything that outputs video over USB-C, including recent iPhones per AppleInsider.
  • Two physical IPD sizes, so the image is sharp edge to edge for more faces.

What to watch for

  • No AI. If you want an assistant, translation or a camera, look at the Even G2 or Ray-Ban Meta instead.
  • Tethered. It draws power from your device, so your phone battery pays for the movie.
  • Tom’s Hardware calls it an occasional-use device at a premium price, and the 6DoF camera is an extra purchase.

Who should buy it

Buy them for flights, trains and a private big screen with a laptop or handheld. Skip them if you wanted smart glasses you wear all day.

What it feels like to use

Plug it into a laptop, a Steam Deck, a Switch or a recent USB-C phone, and a screen appears in front of you. XREAL says it looks like up to 171 inches at its 57 degree field of view, and an ultrawide mode on a computer stretches that further. AppleInsider found the jump from 600 to 700 nits made it much more usable in bright rooms. The 120 Hz refresh rate helps with flicker and motion sickness.

The X1 chip anchors the screen in place with three degrees of freedom, so you can turn your head and the screen stays put. The Verge notes Real 3D, which applies a 3D effect to normal 2D video, and says it works surprisingly well. Tom’s Hardware notes the optional Eye camera adds 6DoF, but did not think it was worth the extra cost without a killer app.

Fit

XREAL sells two IPD sizes, 57 to 66 mm and 66 to 75 mm, and Tom’s Hardware notes you can fine-tune further in software. Prescription inserts are available, and the lenses dim electronically with three tint levels, per iDevice. At 87 grams it is more than twice the weight of display glasses like the Even G2, which matters on a long flight.

Why it is on an AI site

People searching AI glasses keep finding XREAL. It has no assistant, no camera by default and no battery. It is a display. If you want something that helps you remember, translate or answer questions, it is the wrong product. If you want a private movie screen for travel, it is one of the best.

Alternatives

  • XREAL 1S. The cheaper entry model, with the same X1 chip, per The Verge.
  • Even Realities G2. All-day display glasses with AI, not a video screen.
  • Ray-Ban Meta. AI and camera, no display.

Our take

AI Score note: research-based, not hands-on. Excellent at being a portable screen. Not an AI product, so it scores as one only on display quality. This is my editorial read of published reviews, not a rating.
