I don’t own these. This guide is research from Meta’s own help pages.

Getting started

  1. Pair the glasses with the Meta AI app on your phone.
  2. Turn on Meta AI and learn the main voice commands (Meta help ).
  3. Change the privacy settings below before you wear them out.

How the AI works

  • Where it runs: in Meta’s cloud. When you say “Hey Meta, look and…” the glasses send the image to Meta’s cloud and answer by voice (Meta help ).
  • Which model: Meta AI. These glasses use Meta’s assistant, not ChatGPT or Gemini.
  • What leaves the device: voice requests, and images for visual questions. Meta may store visual AI data to improve its products unless you turn off “Store visual data from AI experiences” in the Meta AI app (Meta help ).
  • Photos you take: cloud media is a separate setting from visual AI (Meta help ).
